ANDREAS NILSSON Done by my dear friend Jeff who is an enigma. He used to play bass with Avril Lavigne and has a chihuahua named Megatron that is always wearing a nasty little leather jacket. I really like Jeff.

The Crystal Barn

In a world where financial institutions often lean towards conventional advertising, Barclaycard's campaign, "The Crystal Barn," takes a refreshingly unconventional approach. Directed by Jeff Low of Biscuit Filmworks, this spot celebrates the unique journey of a real small business, The Crystal Barn, located in Kettering, England.

The Crystal Barn isn't your typical enterprise. Specializing in healing crystals, the business operates out of a series of barns, offering a serene and somewhat mystical environment for its customers. The campaign, created by Droga5 London, aims to highlight Barclaycard's commitment to supporting businesses of all kinds, no matter how unconventional they may seem.

Jeff Low's direction brings a touch of whimsy and authenticity to the narrative. As he mentions, "Charlene and Dan had a great idea, and that’s mostly what made this work. That and the bravery of Barclaycard to try something a bit different rather than the usual bank stuff where you can practically hear the risk calculation behind every decision."

The spot showcases the owners, Andy and Clare, as they passionately discuss their love for crystals and the journey of their business. Their genuine enthusiasm and the serene backdrop of their barns create a compelling and heartwarming story.

The campaign has garnered attention for its boldness and sincerity, standing out in a sea of typical financial advertisements. It serves as a testament to Barclaycard's willingness to embrace diversity in the businesses they support and the stories they choose to tell.
