Søren Rose During 3daysofdesign, artist Cathrine Raben Davidsen opened the doors to CRD STUDIO CASA, her new family home on Paper Island. The home was transformed into a carefully curated showcase featuring a wide selection of Raben Davidsen’s own works including hand-thrown ceramics, custom-colored kitchen cabinetry, sculptural lighting, and elegant tableware. These were thoughtfully presented alongside handpicked contributes from several artists and designers, pieces from her family’s private art collection, as well as bespoke, handmade cabinets crafted by Københavns Møbelsnedkeri.

CRD STUDIO CASA

At 3days of design, CRD STUDIO CASA offered more than a presentation of objects - it revealed Cathrine Raben Davidsen’s vision of the home as both sanctuary and creative hub. Set within her new residence on Copenhagen’s Paper Island, the project invited guests into an intimate domestic setting rather than a neutral showroom, underscoring how art and design can gain new resonance when experienced in daily life. Central to the installation was her collaboration with master craftsman Kim Dolva of Københavns Møbelsnedkeri on the striking Sashiko Cabinets, which marry Japanese embroidery traditions with a modern, architectural sensibility. By opening her private space to the public, Raben Davidsen highlighted her ongoing interest in authenticity, tactility, and the handmade - echoing historic artist homes like Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul - where memory, identity, and creativity are inseparably woven into the fabric of living.
