MENTZE OTTENSTEIN Scenery Magazine is a new magazine with a focus on interiors. By not showing everything in crisp digital photos, but instead insisting on a romantic eye, showing glimpse into homes you can only dream about visiting, it has a voyeuristic joy to it. It’s made by our dear friend Simon, and we love following the project, cheering on from the sidelines.

Lived-In Beauty
Started in 2023 by Founding editor-in-chief Simon B. Mørch, Scenery was born from a desire to move away from sterile interiors and toward something more human. “The best spaces,” Mørch says, “are self-portraits of the people who live in them.”
The name came from a line in a Simon & Garfunkel song - “So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine” - a coincidence that perfectly captured the publication’s mix of poetry and place.
Published bi-annually, Scenery blurs the lines between interiors, art, and fashion. Its pages show rooms as they are lived in - messy, textured, and full of personality - photographed with a fashion editor’s eye for atmosphere. Alongside features, each issue introduces collaborative objects and design pieces, reflecting its deep commitment to craft and material culture.
Scenery's fourth issue will be released late November 2025.
These are four Scenery article examples, shown visually rather than in full text.
