Loji Höskuldsson Art

Loji Höskuldsson (b. 1987, Reykjavík, Iceland) works primarily with embroidery, developing images slowly, stitch by stitch, on burlap over days and months. This deliberate process creates space for reflection, embedding a sense of time and contemplation into each piece. Rooted in craft traditions, his practice explores contemporary themes through narrative compositions. His works draw on local landscapes, flora and fauna, everyday objects, and cultural references from Iceland and Scandinavia. Balancing intimacy and scale, Höskuldsson’s embroideries evoke quiet empathy and attentiveness, offering subtle observations on shared human experience and suggesting a restrained sense of hope amid uncertainty.
