Søren Pihlmann Architecture

Søren Pihlmann (1987) is an architect and founder of Copenhagen based pihlmann architects, established in 2021. His practice is centred on transformation, reuse, and generative preservation, with a strong focus on existing buildings, overlooked materials, and alternative resource logics. Through projects, exhibitions, and research, he explores architecture as an open and processual practice, where value is extracted from what is already there. Pihlmann’s work engages critically with questions of material intelligence, maintenance, and architectural responsibility, and is presented internationally through built work, exhibitions, and publications.
